Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Kognitif Dan Keterampilan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMA Pada Materi Gelombang

This study aims to describe and analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model in improving students' cognitive abilities and problem-solving skills in wave materials. The method used in this study is a quantitative method. The design used in this study is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 35 students at one of the State High School schools in the city of Bandung. In this study, the instruments used were pretest and posttest of cognitive ability and problem-solving skills. The test instrument was in the form of 15 multiple-choice questions for cognitive abilities according to the indicators, 5 essay questions for problem-solving skills according to the indicators, the implementation of the learning model, and the student response questionnaire. The test conducted in this study is the N-gain Test. The results of the study showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' cognitive abilities with a pretest score of 32.65, and a posttest score of 81.94, with an N-Gain result of 0.72 which means that there is an increase in students' cognitive abilities included in the high category. The results of the study also showed that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model for students' problem-solving skills with a pretest score of 29.71, posttest score of 79.42, with an N-Gain result of 0.70 which means that there is an increase in problem-solving skills included in the high category. The implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model obtained 100% results, which means that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is included in the very good category. It can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model shows an increase in cognitive ability and problem-solving skills in wave materials with a high category.
